Lady in white

it started off with like my third maid job in the city. it has been years since i last worked in the city, currently in my mid 40s btw. it was a decent paying job to take care and nurse an old woman. she could not walk and needed assistance. Her daughter had hired me and i had to work in their house.

few days went by, the house was pretty nice. they were infact really good to me too. i was quite happy with the job. but then the old woman started getting sicker and sicker. she was transfered to the hospital from the home. few weeks later she passed away.( may god grant her heaven). i attended her funeral and i left the next day back to my village.

a month or so went by. as i finished up cleaning my kitchen i got a call. it was from the daughter. she explained that the person that cooked in her house left and she needed someone to work as the chef. i usually dont take these type of jobs, mostly nursing but they had been really kind to me last time so i agreed on it.

after going there. the first night the maids cabin had no beds empty so i thought why dont i sleep in the room the old lady i cared for few months ago stayed at. i slept there before when i took care of her and had to attend to her during nights aswell so i thought it would be the same. when i entered it this time it was different. it had these eerie feeling that someone was watching me. i ignored it and set my bed on the floor.

as i slept i felt something tugging my hair but nothing was there when i turned back. ts continued on for the next 2-3 days. until one day when i turned and saw nothing so i tried going to sleep when i saw it. i saw the old woman that passed standing there fully wrapped in white cloth like they do in islam before burying you. she stood ther straight looking at me and for 5 sec straight i saw her but after i blinked,gone !

i have never slept in that room ever again from that night onwards. i have been working here for 4 years now. i had more encounters but not with her. i never saw her again.
